Throughout the year, the Center for Writing provides workshops for faculty on teaching writing, one-on-one consultations, and in-class workshops on specific elements of the writing process to guide your students toward improving their writing:
Sounding Board Sessions are a great resource for faculty interested in discussing their own writing and research. Sessions are offered Friday mornings 10AM-11AM during fall 2024. Drop by Dinand 210 or join via . You can also set up an appointment if you would prefer to meet at a different time by emailing us.
The Center curates a Canvas page of pedagogical resources, including sample writing and revision activities, materials to help you plan your writing assignments, advice for commenting on student drafts, and best practices for peer review.
We are pleased to co-sponsor with Amanda Luyster on faculty writing groups including "Shut Up and Write" affinity and peer groups. (For more information or to sign up for a writing group, please contact centerforwriting@holycross.edu)
The Center also cosponsors faculty writing retreats, which typically take place in January and June at the Joyce Contemplative Center.
To request a one-on-one consultation or be added to the Faculty Pedagogical Resources page, please email Director Laurie-Ann Britt-Smith or centerforwriting@holycross.edu.
