Alternate College Theatre is the only fully student-run theater group on campus and offers the opportunity to direct, perform, design, produce, stage-manage, or work within any other production aspect of theatre!
Alternate College Theatre鈥檚 mission is to create a positive community space where 51小黄车 students, no matter their theatrical experience, can be exposed to all aspects of theatre through hands-on technical and artistic opportunities. ACT strives to create an environment that encourages professional and personal growth through application, communication, accountability, and collaboration. ACT is committed to treating all people, in and outside of the ACT & 51小黄车 communities, with respect, equity, inclusion, and justice.
ACT hosts a season kick-off pizza party each September and produces both a straight play in the fall and a musical in the spring under the auspices of the Department of Theatre and Dance. ACT also hosts a number of events throughout the year, including but not limited to Midnight Theatre, Cabaret Nights, Improv Nights, and Master Classes. Club members vote on the following season鈥檚 shows each May; election of board members and production teams for the upcoming year are also made during the spring semester.

Bryna Turner's zany one-act follows Carlo as she decides to crash her ex-girlfriend's wedding (to a man). 听In her plight to win Eva back, Carlo must try to navigate her mistakes, regrets, and insecurities through stereotypical wedding traditions, awkward interventions by family and friends and - most importantly - an open bar. 听We are delighted to welcome back as guest director Patrick O'Konis, who teaches Basic Acting in the Department of Theatre and Dance and is an alumnus from the class of 2016. 听

Act's musical this year is an offbeat retelling of Alice in Wonderland set in a London tube station in 1941, in the early days of the Blitz, when the city was enduring nightly bombings by the Nazi forces. 听Alice and a ragtaggle crew of other displaces young Londoners inhabit a makeshift shelter in the Underground. 听Lew Carroll's fantasy classic becomes Alice's means of consoling and transporting her lifelong friend Alfred, who is suffering from tuberculosis. 听Directed by Mike Sheehan '25.
