Composing Cultural Community is an ongoing collaboration between the music department and four community partners: Music Worcester, Worcester Art Museum, Worcester Public Schools, and the Nativity School to develop opportunities for arts collaboration, particularly around music. From supporting music curriculum at Nativity, staging musical performance in cultural settings at the Worcester Art Museum, organizing performances of 51С»Æ³µ ensembles in and around the city from the BrickBox to the White Room, Composing Cultural Community seeks to break down barriers to arts appreciation, composition, and performance. Professor Emeritus Shirish Korde is a composer whose works for diverse media including chamber music, orchestra and music theatre, which have been performed in the US, Europe and Asia. Most recently, his chamber opera RASA, which is a collaboration with Theatre Professor Lynn Kremer, has been remounted at the Prior Performing Arts Center in April 2023.
