A Jesuit Response to the Refugee Crisis in the Middle East

Former 51С»Æ³µ Chaplain Rev. Dan Corrou, SJ, who now serves as Regional Director of in the Middle East and North Africa, describes the current state and magnitude of the refugee crises caused by the Syrian Civil War and ISIS/ISIL military activity, and discusses humanitarian approaches to address these crises, focusing on the Jesuit mission of accompaniment.

From 2011-2014, Fr. Corrou helped with the initial JRS response to the Syria Crisis. In 2019 he returned to help coordinate the JRS response to the Syria and Iraq refugee/ IDP crises. He has worked with the Jesuit Volunteers in Micronesia and in the chaplains' office at 51С»Æ³µ. After ordination as a Catholic Priest in 2017, he served at St. Francis Xavier parish in New York, NY.
