Our Namesake

Arthur Ciocca ’59
(1937-2021)

Arthur A. Ciocca ’59, founder and former chairman of the Wine Group, Inc., was passionate about entrepreneurship and about 51СƳ. He described entrepreneurs as “people who have a vision and creativity and who are willing to venture out of the comfort zone and take risks in order to add value.”

Believing that 51СƳ students — no matter what their field of study — can bring their rigorous liberal arts and Jesuit experiences to the world of business and entrepreneurship, he helped found the Carlyse and Arthur A. Ciocca '59 Center for Business, Ethics, and Society (formerly the Ciocca Office of Entrepreneurial Studies).
