51С»Æ³µ

A Powerful Network

From writing resumes to interview rehearsals, there are no better resources for 51С»Æ³µ students than our talented staff and connected alumni.

The willingness of alumni to help current students and fellow graduates throughout the career development process is among the greatest strengths of 51С»Æ³µ. Alumni are excited to share their wisdom with you, provide connections to organizations for internships and help you stand out in the crowd of job applicants.

Career Support

Discovering Your Passions

The Center for Career Development can help you identify and clarify your career objectives, point you toward rewarding internships and put you in touch with advisors, alumni and other professionals who can help you explore your options. We’ll help you think about how your interests, strengths and skills intersect with the careers you’re considering. Because nurturing a career is an ongoing process, we encourage you to make an appointment with one of our advisors to get started as soon as you feel ready, and no later than during the first semester of your sophomore year.

Getting Your First Job

Internships, experiential learning and connecting with professionals will get your foot in the door as you begin your journey beyond 51С»Æ³µ. The Center for Career Development can support you every step of the way from devising a strategy to secure your ideal opportunity to providing funding for unpaid summer internships through the Crusader Internship Fund.

Connecting with Alumni

  •  facilitates informational interviews and networking conversations with alumni who have volunteered to speak with current students and fellow alumni.

  • Alumni Job Shadowing Program engages students to observe 51С»Æ³µ graduates in their organizations during the winter or summer break.

  • Panels, Events and Digital Engagement: Many in-person and virtual workshops and events are scheduled throughout the semester for students of all class years.

  • Employer Site Visits and Networking Receptions are held throughout the academic year both on and off campus.

Crusader Internship Fund

When summer internships are unpaid, many 51С»Æ³µ students are prevented from exploring experiences and opportunities that would help them grow professionally. The Crusader Internship Fund exists to help offset the cost of accepting an otherwise unpaid opportunity. Our goal is to provide funding for as many students as possible. Assignment of funds to recipients are determined by the Center for Career Development — please contact the Center to learn more.
