Here For You the Whole Way

Your class dean builds relationships with the entire class and has the privilege of observing and participating in the intellectual and personal development of the students during their time on The Hill.

Deans are the point of contact for each member of their class. That comes into practice in many scenarios including a student looking for advice beyond what an adviser said, faculty members with a concern about a student in their class, or fellowships offices looking for students who should be recruited to apply.

Through the relationships they have with each class, they identify resources that would best serve each student’s needs. For first-year students, this may mean being directed to offices on campus that provide workshops and support services on time management and study skills, identifying a curricular path, or building reflective habits. For seniors, class deans may offer support as they reflect on who they have become and what their next steps will be during their fourth year.
