Immerse Yourself
Internship
Four days a week, students immerse themselves alongside professionals in top-tier agencies and organizations including politics, healthcare, law, social service, media and more. Each placement pushes students to take initiative, contribute thoughtfully and expand their practical knowledge. This rich environment, combined with the program’s academic rigor, has made 51С»Æ³µ interns some of the most sought-after in the capital.
Research Project
Under the guidance of a faculty advisor, each student completes an in-depth research project connected to their chosen agency’s mission and impact. The project encourages a synthesis of academic inquiry and fieldwork, prompting students to explore the ethical, political or societal dimensions of their placements. Culminating in a formal presentation, the research offers students not only academic credit but a valuable platform to articulate their growth, newfound perspectives and critical insights into the structures they observe and contribute to.
Seminar
Once a week, students gather for a lively, no-prerequisites seminar focused on public policy. The class becomes a convergence of fresh perspectives — internship experiences, current events and challenging readings — enabling students to dive into pressing policy questions with depth and insight. Through discussions on agenda-building and policy-making, they come to understand the complex interplay of forces shaping our society.
